Ikalto isn't just a village; it's a unique micro-zone within the Alazani Valley. Naturally protected from the harsh winds of the North and West, our vineyards breathe freely as air masses flow from the Southeast.
This specific circulation creates a "balanced tension" in the grapes, resulting in wines that are both robust and elegantly humid.

The Resilience of the Vine
Ikalto is known for its dramatic nature. With 30-60 lightning storms and the occasional threat of large-sized hail, our vines are "fighters." This struggle against the elements is what gives the fruit its concentrated flavor and incredible resilience.

While winter brings snow heights up to 75cm, it serves as a natural blanket, protecting the roots and preparing the earth for the spring awakening.
