Arrival at Tbilisi International Airport. Meet and greet, followed by a private transfer to your hotel.

After some time to relax, you will enjoy a gentle introductory walk through the Old Town of Tbilisi, where narrow streets, historic churches, and wooden balconies reflect the city’s layered past.

In the evening, we will host a welcome dinner at a traditional restaurant — a first taste of Georgian cuisine and hospitality.

Return to the hotel for overnight stay.

After breakfast, departure towards Mtskheta, the spiritual heart of the country and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Here, you will visit the Svetitskhoveli Cathedral, one of Georgia’s most sacred landmarks, where history and faith have been intertwined for centuries.

Continuing west, we arrive in Gori, the birthplace of Joseph Stalin. A visit to the Stalin Museum (Optional) offers insight into a complex and controversial chapter of 20th-century history.

A short drive brings us to the ancient rock-hewn town of Uplistsikhe, an extraordinary archaeological site carved into stone, where pagan and early Christian eras meet in silent dialogue. Walking through its tunnels and chambers, one senses the echoes of a distant, resilient past.

In the afternoon, we continue our journey westward to Kutaisi, one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in Europe.

After breakfast, departure from Kutaisi towards the underground world of Prometheus Cave, where vast halls of stalactites and stalagmites unfold in soft light — a quiet, almost mythical beginning to the day.

From here, the road gradually leaves the lowlands and begins its ascent toward the Greater Caucasus. Our next stop is the impressive Enguri Dam, one of the highest arch dams in the world. Surrounded by dramatic mountain scenery, it offers a powerful contrast between human engineering and raw nature.

Continuing along the Enguri valley, the landscape becomes wilder, deeper, more ancient. By late afternoon, we arrive in Mestia, the cultural heart of Svaneti — a land of stone towers, mountain traditions, and enduring spirit.

We begin with a visit to a traditional Svan house (“Machubi”), offering insight into the unique lifestyle, architecture, and centuries-old traditions of the Svan people. This is followed by the Svaneti Museum of History and Ethnography, home to an exceptional collection of medieval manuscripts, icons, and artifacts that reflect the deep spiritual and historical roots of the region.

Later, we take the cable car to Hatsvali Ski Resort, where panoramic views of the Caucasus Mountains open wide — a landscape both majestic and humbling.

If you wish to experience nature more closely, there is an option for one or two light hikes towards the Chalaadi Glacier. The trail follows a scenic river valley and leads to the foot of the glacier — a gentle yet rewarding walk immersed in alpine silence.

Return to Mestia, free time in the evening, and overnight stay.

After breakfast, departure towards Ushguli, one of the highest continuously inhabited settlements in Europe and a UNESCO-listed site. Surrounded by the towering peaks of the Caucasus, Ushguli feels suspended in time, where medieval stone towers rise against the backdrop of Mount Shkhara.

We visit the small and deeply atmospheric Lamaria Church, a place of quiet devotion and enduring local tradition.

From here, we continue our journey over the dramatic Zagaro Pass (weather permitting), descending into Lower Svaneti. The road winds through wild, untouched landscapes, gradually leading us into the region of Racha, known for its natural beauty and distinctive wines.

In Racha, we visit the elegant Nikortsminda Cathedral, a masterpiece of Georgian medieval architecture, adorned with intricate stone carvings and frescoes.

We then enjoy a tasting of the famous semi-sweet wine Khvanchkara, produced from the unique Aleksandrouli and Mujuretuli grape varieties — a wine once reserved for kings, now shared in the spirit of Georgian hospitality.

In the evening, continue to Kutaisi, arrival at the hotel and overnight stay.

After breakfast, departure from Kutaisi heading south toward Borjomi, famous for its mineral waters and beautiful national park. A short stop allows for a stroll in the park and a taste of the legendary Borjomi spring water.

Continuing, we visit Sapara Monastery, a serene medieval complex nestled on a hillside, rich in frescoes and history, offering a glimpse into monastic life over the centuries.

From Sapara, the journey continues to Vardzia, the remarkable cave city carved into the cliffs. Explore its labyrinth of tunnels, churches, and chambers — a striking testament to Georgia’s medieval spiritual and cultural resilience.

After breakfast, depart from Vardzia Monastery, taking time to fully explore its cliffside churches, tunnels, and chambers, and absorb the profound history of this medieval site.

Vardzia  is a cave city- The main period of construction was the second half of the XII century. The caves stretch along the cliff for some five hundred meters and in up to nineteen tiers. The Church of the Dormition, dating to the 1180s has an important series of wall paintings.

We then travel north along the scenic Georgian Military Highway, stopping at Ananuri Fortress, overlooking the turquoise Zhinvali Reservoir. The fortress, with its churches and defensive towers, tells stories of Georgia’s feudal past and strategic importance.

Continuing through the dramatic Caucasus landscapes, we arrive in Stepantsminda, at the foot of Mount Kazbek. Arrival, check-in at the hotel, and overnight stay.

After breakfast, we visit the iconic Gergeti Trinity Church, perched above Stepantsminda at the foot of Mount Kazbek. Surrounded by vast mountain silence, this 14th-century church stands as a symbol of endurance and faith.

We then continue towards the dramatic Dariali Gorge, a narrow and powerful passage through the Caucasus, where steep cliffs and the Terek River carve a path between worlds.

From the north, we descend back through the mountains and head east toward Kakheti, Georgia’s renowned wine region. On the way, we visit the historic Alaverdi Monastery, one of the oldest and most important religious centers in the country, where centuries-old winemaking traditions are still preserved within monastic walls.

In the evening, arrival at Wine Trails Marani for a wine tasting and traditional dinner, accompanied by stories, local flavors, and the quiet poetry of the vineyard.

Afterwards, transfer to Telavi, check-in at the hotel, and overnight stay.

After breakfast, departure from Tsinandali, visiting the historic estate and winery, where the centuries-old tradition of Kakhetian winemaking is brought to life. A guided tour includes the gardens, the museum, and a tasting of local wines.

Next, we continue to Sighnaghi, the picturesque “City of Love,” perched on a hilltop with cobblestone streets, colorful houses, and panoramic views of the Alazani Valley. A walk through the town allows you to experience local craftsmanship and Georgian hospitality.

From Sighnaghi, we drive to the David Gareja Monastery Complex, a remarkable semi-desert monastic site carved into the cliffs, combining history, spirituality, and breathtaking landscapes. Explore the caves, chapels, and frescoes that have survived centuries in this remote and evocative setting.

In the late afternoon, return to Tbilisi for check-in at the hotel and overnight stay.

After breakfast, enjoy a relaxed day in Tbilisi. You will have free time to explore the city at your own pace, revisit favorite spots, or do some shopping for local crafts, wines, and souvenirs.

This day is designed to allow for leisurely exploration and personal time, giving you the chance to absorb the city’s atmosphere, enjoy its cafés, or simply rest before your journey home.
