WELCOME TO WINE TRAILS WINERY

At Wine Trails Georgia, we invite you to enjoy wine tasting in Ikalto in our private family cellar. Located in the historic village of Ikalto, Kakheti, our cellar preserves centuries-old winemaking traditions and authentic Georgian hospitality.

The Heart of Our Tradition: The Family Cellar in Ikalto

Welcome to our home — where every bottle tells a story.

At Wine Trails Georgia, we believe that wine is more than just a drink; it is the soul of our heritage. Our private family cellar is located in the historic village of Ikalto, Kakheti—a place where winemaking has been a way of life for centuries.

When you visit us, you aren't just a tourist; you are a guest of our family. We open our doors to share the secrets of the Qvevri (ancestral clay vessels) and the warmth of Georgian hospitality.

Meet the Winemaker

Zaza Makharadze - Winemaker at Wine Trails Georgia

Driven by a lifelong passion for Georgian soil, Zaza Makharadze (the founder of Wine Trails Georgia) personally oversees the production of our natural wines. With years of experience in guiding international travelers and a deep respect for Ikalto’s viticulture, Zaza ensures that every guest receives a truly personalized and educational experience.

The Authentic Qvevri Experience

Georgia is the "Cradle of Wine," and in our cellar, we honor the 8,000-year-old tradition. Our wines are crafted using natural fermentation in Qvevris buried underground, a method recognized by UNESCO.

  • Vineyard Walks: Stroll through our rows of Rkatsiteli and Saperavi grapes and learn about our organic approach.
  • The Magic of Qvevri: See where the wine sleeps and learn how we bury, seal, and open these massive clay jars.
  • Professional Tastings: Sip on our limited-edition wines, ranging from amber (orange) wines to deep, velvety reds.
  • Farm-to-Table Dining: Pair our wines with homemade Georgian bread (Shoti), local cheeses, and traditional dishes.
