Day 1 : Arrival in Tbilisi.
Arrive in Tbilisi and transfer to the hotel. The rest of the day at leisure with no guided activities. Pre-tour briefing at 18:00 at the hotel and after that Welcome dinner.Day 2 : Tbilisi Sightseeing
Today we explore the historical part of Tbilisi with its narrow streets, colorful houses, carved balconies and magnificent atmosphere. This enchanting place illustrates a great mix of Orient and Occident. Our first destination is the Metekhi church (13th century). We can enjoy breathtaking views of the Old Town from this place. We continue walking to the Synagogue and then visit two important Georgian churches - Sioni Cathedral (6th-7th. centuries) with its beautiful bell towers, mural paintings and the oldest church of Tbilisi - Anchiskhati (6th century). Visit Narikala Fortress (4th century), before enjoying lunch with traditional Georgian food at a local restaurant. During the meal we will also try some local wines. After lunch, visit Sarajishvili Brandy Factory and take the opportunity to try some high-quality Georgian brandy. Later this afternoon you can enjoy some leisure time to amble through the streets of old Tbilisi. This evening is at your own leisure and our local guide will be able to make dinner recommendations. Overnight in Tbilisi.Day 3 : Tbilisi – Manavi - Sighnaghi – Telavi
After breakfast drive east towards Kakheti. Firstly, we visit the Spekali Winery and then Giuaani Winery, in the village of Manavi. This will be followed by Bodbe Monastery of St. Nina. Visit the picturesque hill-town of Sighnaghi and take a leisurely stroll through this beautiful town admiring the fabulous views towards the High Caucasus range in the distance. Drive to village Ikalto, close to the town of Telavi. On arrival, we check in to the hotel and there will be some time to spend at leisure before evening dinner with traditional Georgian fare. Overnight at Chateau Ikalto (or similar). (BD)Day 4 : Harvest - grape piciking - wine tasting - cooking class
After breakfast visit our vineyard, you will take part in the grape picking. In the vineyard, we will fry barbecue, taste Georgian cheese, and enjoy our wine. After that, grapes will be taken in our wine cellar, you’ll have the opportunity to press the grapes in the fermentation clay jars. At the end of the activity lunch and wine tasting from our collection. At the end of the day drive to Ikalto located at the heart of Georgia’s wine-growing regions. Dinner. Overnight in Chateau Ikalto (or similar).Day 5 : Tsinandali - Alaverdi Monastery - Beekeeper farm - Wine Tasting
After breakfast visit the residence (now the house-museum) of the most famous noble family, poet, and public figure Al.Chavchavadze, in Tsinandaly. Where was produced first European style of Wine in Georgia. Wine tasting – Tsinandali wine. Visit Alaverdi monastery. Excursion in the monastery - visit Alaverdi cathedral, archaeological excavations, monastery wine cellar. Taste monastic wine. After lunch in the restaurant next to the monastery, visit the beekeeping farm, find a lot of interesting about the bees, about their life, care for them, etc. Try and compare honey of different seasons, and at the end try honey vodka prepared by beekeepers. Drave to the hotel in Ikalto. Free time.Day 6 : Ananuri - Gergeti Sameba Church
After breakfast drive through beautiful mountain road towards the Stepantsminda. On the road visit Ananuri architectural complex. Then we cross by Jvari pass the Greater Caucasus range (2395 m. above sea level) and down to Kazbegi (Stepantsminda). Visit Gergeti Sameba Church. Explore the area and enjoy the views of the surrounding summits, including Mt. Kazbek. Return to Kazbegi. Hotel accommodation. Free time in the evening cooking class.Day 7 : Kazbegi - Chateau Mukhrani - Mtskheta (UNESCO) – Tbilisi
Today we will have an early start in order be at the iconic Gergeti Trinity church for its opening at 9am. This is an iconic place situated 2100 metres above sea level and surrounded by lofty Caucasus peaks. After our visit we leave the mountains behind and visit Chateau Mukhrani, known for the famous residence and winery of Prince Mukran Bagrationi, where we have the opportunity to taste some of the wines and enjoy some local snacks. After the visit, continue to Mtskheta, the ancient capital of Georgia and a site of immense historical and cultural significance. Mtskheta is packed full of historical monuments and is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Explore the 11th century Svetitskhoveli Cathedral and the 6th century Jvari Monastery. By early evening we return to Tbilisi where you evening is at leisure. This evening we shall have dinner together, as the UK wine expert and the Undiscovered Destinations representative will depart tomorrow. Overnight at Hotel KMM (BLD)Day 8 : Tbilisi
After breakfast take the funicular for panoramic views of the city, followed by a visit to the National Museum (closed on Mondays) which will give excellent context to your experiences from the tour. The rest of the day is at leisure to relax, go shopping or enjoy a glass of wine at one of the many nice cafes or wine shops. Your local guide will make recommendations if you wish for dinner this evening. Overnight at Hotel KMM (B)Day 9 : Departure.
Breakfast at the hotel. You will be transferred to the airport for your onward flight.
Harves festival, is a perfect time to visit Georgia. Therifore our small winery "Wine trails", running by two old friends who made their dream come true, offer you to join our exlusive tour "Harvest festival", which will run from 24 September to 2 October.
Our natural wines are produced according to traditional Georgian technology in small quantities. We are people who love wine, food and culture, can share these pleasures in our winery or vineyards, in an atmosphere of celebration and fun. Therefore, we are pleased to offer our guests wine tasting and explain Georgian meal and wines pairing. A beautiful view of the Caucasian mountains makes visit to our winery unforgettable.
Unquestionable, this tour is an wonderful experience of grape harvesting and includes a visits to several vineyards and wineries. Aswell mostly importantly, during the harvest festival guests will be part of an exciting wine making process and Chacha distillation. Certainly few Culinary classes (in "Badagoni Home") for preparing traditional Georgian meals, is one of the highlight of the tour.
