Week in Georgia

After enjoying breakfast, we depart for the archaeological site of Dzalisi, a significant second-century monument. Following this, we dive into the royal history of the Bagrationi dynasty at Château Mukhrani. Here, you will taste premium wines in a breathtaking 19th-century setting.

Later in the afternoon, we continue to Mtskheta, a UNESCO World Heritage site and the spiritual heart of Georgia. We will explore its historic streets and visit the iconic Jvari Monastery before returning to Tbilisi for dinner.

Our morning begins with a sobering visit to the Museum of Soviet Occupation. Afterward, we head to the Kartli region to explore the Stalin House-Museum in Gori. To wrap up the day’s adventures, we will visit Uplistsikhe, an ancient cave city carved directly into the rock.

Today, our path leads North along the Georgian Military Highway. First, we stop at the Ananuri Fortress, a stunning complex overlooking the turquoise Aragvi River. As we climb higher, we will cross the 2,379-meter high Cross Pass, offering panoramic mountain views. Finally, we reach Stepantsminda to visit the Gergeti Trinity Church, perched dramatically at the foot of Mount Kazbek.

This day is dedicated to the world-renowned wine region of Kakheti. We start at Tsinandali, the elegant 19th-century estate of the Chavchavadze family. Next, we visit the majestic Alaverdi Monastery, where monks still produce wine using 8,000-year-old traditional methods.

To conclude our wine journey, we visit the “Wine Trails” cellar for an authentic winemaking demonstration and a dinner featuring national dishes.

For those who love nature and mystery, today is a highlight. We will hike through the lush Dashbash (Tsalka) Canyon, famous for its cascading waterfalls and emerald green landscapes. Additionally, we will explore the abandoned city of Samshvilde, where deserted streets and frescoed ruins offer a haunting glimpse into Georgia’s medieval past.

We spend our final full day exploring the hidden gems of Tbilisi. Consequently, you will have plenty of free time for souvenir shopping or visiting the famous sulfur baths. As a grand finale, we will enjoy a farewell dinner. If you wish to sharpen your culinary skills, we can organize an optional Georgian cooking masterclass.
