A nation that destroys its nature, destroys its future...

Kakheti Region

"Kakheti is the Chakrulo song that was sent into space as a message from Earth, symbolizing the rich cultural heritage of Georgia and its people. This song, a vibrant expression of national identity, reflects the soul of Kakheti, where tradition and innovation intertwine seamlessly. Kakheti is also the ancient monasteries that protected the important treasures of faith and knowledge throughout the centuries, standing as silent witnesses to the passage of time and the resilience of the human spirit. Each monastery tells a story of devotion and artistry, inviting visitors to explore the sacred landscapes that have nurtured generations. Moreover, Kakheti is the Qvevri, an ancient winemaking vessel where aromatic, flavourful Georgian wine is born. This unique method of winemaking, steeped in history, is a testament to the region's deep connection to viticulture and the art of hospitality. The process itself is a celebration of nature, transforming grapes into liquid poetry that captures the essence of the land. Kakheti is the Alazani Valley and steep mountain passes, where breathtaking vistas await those who venture into its embrace. From lush, evergreen forests to arid steppes, the diversity of Kakheti's landscapes offers a feast for the senses, inviting exploration and adventure. In addition to its natural beauty, Kakheti is home to densely populated villages and small, historical cities, each brimming with stories and traditions waiting to be discovered. The warmth of the locals, the vibrant markets, and the rich culinary scene create an inviting atmosphere that enchants every traveler. With so much to experience, from its breathtaking landscapes to its cultural treasures, how could you ever run out of reasons to visit Kakheti?" PLACES TO VISIT:
