Day 1 : Tbilisi – Cross Datvis-jvari Pass ( 2.689 m above S.L.) - Shatili
The trip will take 6 hours with a lunch break and stop. Cross over the Datvijvari pass (2676m), from where open splendid view of Barisakho rocks on South and Great Caucasus on the North.Day 2 : Shatili – Mutsho – Return to Tbilisi.
Drive to the Mutso fortress. It consists of approx. 30 medieval fortified dwellings arranged in vertical terraces, four towers and old ruins. Village is dated by the 6th century.
Tour to Shatili is a journey through centuries in medival fortificated village, where still existing about 60 towers of the fortress are located close to each other to create fortification chain. This medieval highland village, with village Mutso, located in the deep Arghuni gorge at the height of 1400 m in Khevsureti province. Above all they were an important villages functioned as a fortresses for guarding the northern outskirts of Georgia.
Village is inaccessible during the winter.
